7 Green have really enjoyed Spanish this week. They have been singing and signing new Spanish songs to help them remember greetings and new colours in Spanish. Our colours this week are Amarillo, Verde, Azul and Rojo. They all have wonderful singing voices.

8 & 9 Purple have researched some planets of the solar system. They now know that although Mercury is nearest to the sun, it’s not the hottest planet. Venus is. They also know why this is.

Year 7 Yellow made cheesecake; all pupils really enjoyed the experience and focused well throughout the whole lesson.

Pupils in the Lilac room have been enjoying their Food Technology lessons, learning about healthy choices. So far they have made fruit smoothies and fruit kebabs. Very tasty.

KS4 Every Tuesday Mrs Takers Class make lots of popcorn and chocolate muffins. They then sell them at Oulderhill for their class enterprise. The money raised will then go towards paying for class trips.

In SEB this week we have been getting into the party spirit in our music sessions, we had the parachute out and the students loved being underneath it while we wafted it above them.

Mr Barnes and his cooking group (SSC) make their dinner every week. They all work hard getting involved, this week they made a big shepherd’s pie. They then eat it for lunch the day after.

In Performing Arts this half term we are working on a ballroom dancing project “Strictly Redwood”. So far we have been learning the rhythms, steps and tempo of the Waltz, Tango, Jive, Paso Doble and Quickstep- our favourite being the Jive so far.

Last week we had a very special visitor; Miss Ballroom (the dressed up mannequin) joined our group and wheelchair danced with us. Everyone was very impressed with and intrigued by her.

Music Groups 1 and 2 have started learning some samba rhythms. It gets quite complicated as there are 4 different parts to learn.

In English lessons Students on the internship route have been practicing their telephone skills and taking messages.

Most improved Student
