Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 13 October 2014

On Thursday 16 October, Nicholson’s class will be leading the class assembly and we look forward to seeing some of the wonderful work that the class have produced so far this year.

Thank you to all the parents from both Hamer and Springside who were able to join and celebrate with us on Friday 10 October in order to celebrate Eid and Harvest. It is always nice to see parents in our assemblies.

The Maths Packs are still on sale from the school office between 9am and 9.30am at a cost of £3.

Eight of our Year 6 children are to be community cohesion ambassadors and they will take part in a joint community project with the children of Marland Hill and students from the sixth form college. In the summer term, they will present their vision for community cohesion in Rochdale at the Town Hall. The project opens on Wednesday 15 October at Marland Hill School.

On a recent Newsletter, we requested that all girls’ tights are black or grey only. Several parents helpfully expressed that this is not clear in the parent handbook and they have bought red tights for their girls and that, in fact, red tights look good with Hamer uniform. Having listened, we would like now to support this, red tights are now officially a part of Hamer School for girls and we thank our parents for their input in relation to this matter.

We are still having one or two issues with people who do not hold blue badge badges for limited mobility parking using the spaces at the front of school. Even if you are “just nipping in” or there is nowhere else to park, cars without blue badges must not use those spaces. M6 theatre car park is fine to use as an overspill parking facility and it really is close enough to be more acceptable than using those limited disabled parking space. Thank you.

Well done to Miss Birchenough’s class for the best attendance for week ending 10 October 2014.
Please support us by ensuring that your child is on time and in school every day.

The Stars of the Week & Citizens of the week awards will be back this week.
