Royal British Legion
A huge ‘Thank you’ to everyone who has bought commemorative items for the 100th Anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. After ½ term we will be selling poppies.

Harvest Donations
Thank you if you have already made a donation to Rochdale Foodbank as part of our
Harvest Collection. Next Monday a representative from the Foodbank will take our collection, so please keep bringing in ‘Cupboard Food’ such as tins, jars and packets.

Hallowe’en Parties
There will be a party for Y1 and Y2 children on Thursday 23 October from 3.30 – 4.30 p.m. in the main Hall and on the same evening for KS2 children from 6.00 – 8.00 p.m.
Entry is by ticket only. Tickets will be on sale in the Junior Hall at morning breaktime each day priced £2.00 each. Entry includes a cake and a drink.
Please come dressed for the occasion!

Attendance Ted was won by 4A who had 100% attendance last week.
On Time Ted was shared by RW, RR, 3B, 5T and 5S – who had no children late for school – Well Done!

Individual Photographs
On Friday 17 October the photographer will be in school. He will take photographs of all children who are present on that day.
If you have younger children who do not attend this school please bring them at 8.30am onwards in order for them to have their photos taken with their older siblings.
Children who do not have any siblings in school will have their photos taken alone.
Children who have siblings in school will have their photos taken all together.
Unfortunately we cannot take photos with cousins, classmates, friends etc

Open Evening for new entrants
On Tuesday 21 October school will be holding an ‘Open Evening’ when prospective parents of new Nursery and Reception children, who are due to start in September 2015 are invited into school to meet and talk to staff and have a look round school.
The evening runs from 6.00 – 8.00 p.m.
Please pass on the message if you know others who might be interested.

Secondary School Applications
Just a quick reminder to parents/carers of Year 6 children that the application forms for secondary schools must be completed by 31 October.
Applications can either be online at: - www.rochdale.gov.uk/school admissions or by an application form available at the school office.

Parking outside school
The following cars have been seen parking on the zig-zag lines or in the entrance to the playground:
ML54 FCP – black VW
PN60 VHA – black BMW

Please could we ask that parents/carers do not park in these areas and show consideration for the safety of our children.

Non-Uniform Day on Friday 24 October
Children are invited to come in their ‘own clothes’ on this day and in return bring a donation of bottles – please be careful with glass - for the Christmas Fair – which will be held on Friday 5 December.

Fashion Show
Our PTA would like to thank everyone who supported the Fashion Show on Wednesday – a profit of £200 was made.

A special ‘Thank you’ goes to our models – Mrs Hill, Miss Sutcliffe, Miss Windsor, Mrs Hullock, Amelia Hill and Cerys Hullock ,to the PTA members who helped organise the event: -Jo Chadwick, Sharon Loffet, Michelle Godfrey, Rachael Horton and Viv Farrell and to all the staff who helped on the night.

Menu for week beginning Monday 20 October
Monday: Baked Fish Fingers, Quiche (V), Chips, Mushy Peas or Baked Beans, Baked Dessert and Custard, Yoghurt and Fruit.
Tuesday: Hot Dogs Meat or Vegetable (V), (not frankfurters) in a finger roll, French Fries or Wedges, Spaghetti Hoops (V) or mixed salad, Fruit Whip / Fruit Salad
Yoghurt and Fruit
Wednesday;Roast Dinner with Trimmings, Pasta Bake (V), Garlic Bread, Pancakes (Blueberry or other fruit), Yoghurt and Fruit.
Thursday: Curry and Boiled Rice, Naan Bread, Cottage Pie, Selection of Vegetables
Or Baked Beans, Baked Dessert and Custard, Fresh Fruit / Yoghurts.
Friday: All Day Breakfast
(Omelette, sausage (meat or Quorn), Hash brown, tomatoes, baked beans), Cheesy Jackets (V), Mixed Salad, Jelly and Ice Cream, or iced cake, Yoghurt and Fruit
(V) – vegetarian option. Jacket potatoes are also available each day as are sandwiches.

Thank you if you returned a questionnaire recently. I had 54 returns and this information has helped us consider our plans for extending and expanding our Nursery provision
