Crucial Crew event

Year 6 travelled to Bury for a Crucial Crew event. They were split into groups and took part in a series of mini-workshops delivered by the Police, British Transport Police, Children’s Society, Road Safety team and Rochdale Council. The event is aimed at informing children about keeping safe outside school.

Future First event

Year 11 attended the Future First event at the Hopwood Hall Middleton Campus.
The event gave the pupils the opportunity to find out more about post-16 education providers, including local sixth form colleges, training organisations and universities.

Students and lecturers were on hand to answer questions and demonstrate skills such as nail art, cooking, animal care (we all loved the ferrets!), electronics and child care.

Jacob Hill and Jack Cryer had a go at the rowing contest, with Jack missing out on the top distance of the day by just 5 metres.

The pupils came away with prospectuses and flyers, the reading of which, we hope, will ensure an informed decision has been made when they make their applications.

Girl’s football team

The under 11 girls football team played in a tournament at Kingsway Park. They struggled in their first two matches in difficult conditions, but played much better in their final game to secure a 1-1 draw against Broadfield. Player of the day was Sophie Wilkinson.

Boy’s football team

The under 11 boys football team played in the first round of the ISA Cup against Brabyns. On a large pitch and against a well organised team Beech House struggled. Their second half performance was much better and they should be credited for their efforts. Players of the day were Daniel Rigg and Fahad Akram.

Rochdale cross country event

In the under 9 Rochdale cross country event which was held at Beech House, best performance was Wendi Zhang who finished in the top twenty.

This week’s House Point totals are:

Saturn 53, Jupiter 47, Mercury 45 and Neptune 42.

This half term’s Progress Award winners are Year 3 Aaron Rafique and Year 5 Olivia Alambara.
