Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 16 February 2015

On Tuesday 10 February all children had the chance to do some active skipping in the hall throughout the day. It was great to see them having so much fun with a skipping rope!

We just wanted to say how lucky we are that we have parents who wish to work with us to shape our provision here at Hamer. At the last Governing Body meeting, Ms Begum fed back that parents had wanted to have more clubs and activities. As you will see from the recent newsletter, parents will be pleased that we really have responded!

An exciting, new opportunity has arisen for 20 children from Lower KS2 to be part of Hamer’s first Maths Club. Initially, there will be 5 Friday sessions, starting on 28 February at 12.30 to 1pm in Mr Nadin’s classroom. Lower KS2 children can collect a form from their teacher.

Dance Clubs will take place at the following times:

Key Stage 1: Monday Lunchtime
Key Stage 2: Tuesday morning at 8am
The dance style is Street-Dance and letters have been sent home.

There will now be 2 sessions of football after school. Years 5 and 6 will have their session on a Monday and Years 3 and 4 will have their session on a Wednesday.

Letters recently went out. Only the first 22 will be able to attend for the next half term but anyone who misses out will be able to attend the following half term. Clubs attendance will be reviewed each half term to allow everybody the chance to come at some point in the school year.

Please can parents ensure that all children who attend any after school clubs or lessons are collected on time. Thank you.

For Safety on the car park we request that any children crossing the car park at any times must be holding the hand of an adult and not running on ahead. We must make sure that our children are safe on what can be a very busy car park.
