The WW1 Battlefields:

On Thursday 26 February to Friday 27 February 2015, 33 Year 9 pupils and 3 staff went on a World War One battlefields visit to Ypres in Belgium. 

Science Visit to CERN:

On Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 February 2015, Hollingworth Academy Science Department ran its first overseas Educational Visit to CERN in Geneva, the site of the Large Hadron Collider. Following the results of their Year 9 Science tests, a group of 28 Year 10 pupils, accompanied by Science teachers Mr Bremner, Miss Beckham and Miss Bold, took up the invitation and flew out of Manchester Airport to Geneva.

GCSE Art & Design:

Coursework catch-up sessions take place every day after school for Art & Graphic pupils and Wednesday & Thursday for Textiles pupils wishing to continue with practical work. Coursework deadline is Tuesday 28 April.
