Kentmere officially celebrates its Academy status

Date published: 24 March 2015

On the evening of Thursday 19 March, Kentmere Academy officially celebrated its conversion to Academy status with a launch night, as the school opened its doors to members of the public.

The launch included several tours of the school and nursery, a speech from the Headteacher, and the opportunity for current and prospective parents to meet the staff. Guests were also treated to refreshments and a live joint performance from Wardle Academy’s Junior Band and the Kentmere Academy Band.

Sarah Isberg, Headteacher at Kentmere Academy said: “I feel very proud to be Head of Kentmere Academy and Nursery witnessing an excellent turn out and wonderful live music from the children. It was an outstanding team event.”

Mrs Syed, who attended the event said: “The launch was a really good way to bring the community together, and it was a great way to meet the staff that will potentially be teaching my children. The band was fantastic and it was great to look around all the classrooms which are laid out fantastically – especially the rainbow room.”

Kentmere Primary School converted to Academy status joining the Wardle Academy Trust at the beginning of February 2015. The Trust provides Kentmere Academy with a number of services to enhance the pupil’s learning progress and experience by sharing its facilities and services.
