St Andrew's, Dearnley

Date published: 18 November 2014

The huge project to install a new heating system in Church is nearing completion and will hopefully be up and running by the end of the month when we celebrate not only the start of Advent but also St Andrew's Day.

On Saturday, November 29, there will be an opportunity for children, each accompanied by an adult, to attend an activity workshop from 4pm to 5.30pm in the parish room, at which arts and crafts will be prepared specifically for Advent.

The children will then display their handiwork in Church the next day, Sunday, November 30, which doubles up as Advent Sunday and the Feast Day of our patron saint, St Andrew.

There will be a Family Eucharist at 9.30am, followed at 3pm by 'Songs of Praise', after which we will enjoy tea and scones in the parish room.

Over the course of the last few weeks, parishioners have been submitting their favourite hymns for this special event.

This coming Sunday, November 23, we have our usual 9.30am Sung Eucharist, the parish rota for which is as follows:

Lay assistants, C Giles, J Coomer; readers, J Halstead, S Moore; Intercessions, W Foote; sidespersons, M Howarth, S Harper; refreshments, Ada, Gillian K, Pam P.
