St Andrew's, Dearnley

Date published: 30 June 2015

The afternoon tea in the parish room last Saturday raised more than £400 and everyone said how much they enjoyed it. Thank-you to Susan Knight and her team for organising and running an event which is becoming increasingly popular on our summer social calendar.

It's still not too late to sign up for our visit to the Community of the Resurrection, Mirfield on Saturday, 11 July.

We will leave at approx 9.15am and set off back at about 6pm after Solemn Evensong, which starts at 5pm.

The open day starts with a talk on Vocation at 10.30am, followed at noon by a Festival Mass, with sermon by Fr Eric CR.

Afternoon activities include Stations of Salvation Pilgrimage; a talk on Forgiveness by Fr Simon CR; prayer before the Blessed Sacrament; Confessions; Prayer of Healing and Anointing; and Benediction at 4.15pm.

In addition, there will be book and plant stalls and a treasure hunt for young and old alike.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day.

The parish rota for this Sunday, July 5 (Sung Eucharist at 9.30am) is: lay assistants, C Ashton, J Paterson; readers, S Knight, D Knight; Intercessions, J Mills; sidespersons, G Kilpatrick, M Sheridan; refreshments, Graham, Sandra, Ashley.

Please note that our refurbished parish room can be hired for £15 for the first hour and £10 for each subsequent hour.
