My name is John Farrington and I am standing to be your next councillor in Norden.
Born and raised in Rochdale, I lived in Spotland and attended Balderstone High School before studying music at Crewe and Alsager College. I now run my own multi-media company, having worked in the US for a number of years most notably for the Jane Goodall Foundation. I moved back to the UK, settling in Norden some 10 years ago and have been instrumental in establishing the Rochdale Peace movement.
I joined the Lib Dems two years ago as I am passionately pro-European and really believe that the people in the party locally have the very best intentions for the borough of Rochdale.
I oppose the massive 34% pay rise that both Labour and the Conservatives voted for themselves last year.
I believe there should be a drastic rethink in the Rochdale Town Centre regeneration plan and that we should be offering more arts and creative outlets, more facilities for children and young people and affordable town centre living.
Vote for me on the 3rd May and I will commit to delivering a cleaner, greener and fairer Norden.
