Dear Resident,
It has been an honour to be your Councillor for the past five years. I live and work in Littleborough, I am bringing my family up here and have always been active in our community. But being your Councillor has allowed me to work with you to achieve so much more.
I have:
- helped our most vulnerable with emergency crisis loans and supported adult social care emergencies
- installed new and replaced old bins and grit bins
- fought to fill potholes, patch pavements and road resurfacing (including Calderbrook Rd)
- removed fly tipping
- campaigned to protect our green belt and protected open spaces including working closely with residents at Stansfield (the playground) and now at Pembroke Park (the old gasworks)
- created the Rochdale Eco Business Scheme
- set up the Climate Emergency Scrutiny group
- lobbied to refurbish the railway arches, create additional station car parking and to keep our ticket office open
- secured investment for Hollingworth Lake
- helped to plant 1000s of trees
- reinstated the bus service to Milnrow
- stopped cars accessing Smithy Bridge playing field
- …and much more.
But now I need your support to continue the work. If elected on Thursday 2 May my priorities will include sourcing the funding to carry out improvements to Littleborough village centre, strengthening the offer and facilities at Hollingworth Lake, ensuring the new publicly owned bus network delivers for residents, making sure that every 11-year-old has a local school place, new road resurfacing programmes especially in Smithy Bridge, supporting our voluntary organisations to recruit members, and defending our Protected Open Spaces.
This May’s local election is a clear choice between a hardworking local Councillor who is delivering for you or an unknown person with no record of delivery. Please lend me your vote in the local elections on Thursday 2 May.
