Labour and Co-operative Party
Bamford Ward

Living in Bamford, and having been raised here, my affection for our community runs deep. I take immense pride in calling Bamford my home. I graduated university with a computer science degree and started my career in my current role at Oldham Council. Through this I have valuable experience with the day-to-day operations of local government. I wish to take this experience and put it at the service of our community in Bamford. I have been listening to residents and want to hit the ground running with a plan to improve Bamford:

Filling in Potholes

Labour have now brought our roads maintenance team back in-house, making it more responsive to the public. We have reduced the average wait to get a pothole fixed by 50% and increased the number of road repairs. Between 2024 and 2029, your council will complete 38,460 road repairs.

Clean Up Our Streets

Rochdale Labour will continue to offer free bulky waste collections. Stopping unsightly flytipping – and clamping down on those who flout the law and dump their rubbish on our streets. Where you see flytipping report it to the council so we can continue to pursue the perpetrators.

Improving our Town Centres

With a masterplan for Rochdale town centre now in place, we will see a focus on improving our public realm and reducing the number of empty shops. This is part of Labour’s cast iron guarantee to support small businesses as the beating heart of Rochdale’s economy.

Making our Town Safer

Working with Mayor Andy Burnham to ensure guaranteed patrols in the town centre and a named officer in every neighbourhood across Rochdale.

Better Buses for all

Labour across Greater Manchester will work with partners to push forward your demand for better buses. Building on the fare cap introduced in 2022 we will make buses cheaper, more frequent and better-quality. Smart ticketing will be introduced later this year and Andy Burnham’s Bee Network will deliver more joined up travel across Greater Manchester and create local jobs.

On Thursday 2 May put your trust in me to deliver on this plan for you and I will not let you down.
