Feel Good Festival Friday: Showtime on the main stage

The Feel Good Festival main stage was rocking on Friday night as Daft Punk The Tribute, Marblehead Johnson, Next Stop Mars and Joe Dunne entertained a wet but enthusiastic crowd in Rochdale Town Hall Square.

Headlining the first of two days live music on the main stage was 'Daft Punk The Tribute', who brought the stage literally alive with their acclaimed version of the unique French duo’s live show.

Supporting were Marblehead Johnson, a five-piece named after a 90s anthem, who paid tribute to the British Britpop music scene.

With a powerful combination of passion and quality, they played classics from bands like Pulp, Oasis, The Verve, Paul Weller, Blur and Supergrass

Marblehead Johnson were the choice of main stage sponsors The Flying Horse - manager Patricia Boothman said: They are superb live, like your best ever pub gig, supersized."

Also supporting were Next Stop Mars, a pop-rock four piece from London - singer and keyboard player Shanel Jamel, guitarist Dan Kerridge, drummer John Wilson and bassist Denis Jemel - inspired by the likes of Linkin Park, Blink 182 and Michael Jackson.

Opening the evening was Rochdale singer/songwriter Joe Dunne, runner up in this year’s Battle of the Bands competition.

The talented 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Rochdale impressed the audience with covers of Oasis, Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Johnny Cash and a homage to his favourite group, Arctic Monkeys.
