Petition to introduce speed cameras at Castleton junction
Date published: 31 August 2018
A petition has been launched calling for speed cameras to be installed at a junction in Castleton.
Rex Arnold and his family were driving out of the Nixon Street junction onto Manchester Road earlier this month, when he was almost involved in an accident.
As a result, he has started the petition for speed cameras to be introduced in the area.
A spokeswoman for Rochdale Borough Council said: “Residents are able to contact Rochdale Borough Council if they feel a speed camera is required on a particular road.
“When a recommendation is made our highways team will undertake investigation to see if any incidents have taken place and to explore any relevant statistics for that area, and if appropriate, a speed survey will be undertaken.”
