RHS Garden Bridgewater

RHS Garden Bridgewater is the stunning new 154 acre RHS garden that has been created in Worsley in the borough of Salford. Many of you will have seen the remarkable transformation of the derelict site in the BBC2 documentary series, The Great Northern Garden Build.

FOLS would encourage people to use the train (and/or other public transport) to reach this wonderful new attraction. Direct trains go from Littleborough and Smithy Bridge to Walkden which is the nearest railway station to the gardens. The train journey takes just over 45 minutes. The RHS website gives you full details on how to access the gardens whether you take a bus or choose to walk or cycle the two mile route from Walkden Station. Buses are also available from Manchester city centre if you wish to travel there first.

RHS Garden Bridgewater is open Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 6pm; last entry is at 5pm. The gardens are open daily except Christmas Day. There two cafes within the gardens: Bridgewater Cafe and Garden Cottage Cafe. From May 2021 to May 2022, Salford residents have free admission to the garden every Tuesday.

The website also gives details on how to book tickets, join the RHS and anything else that you may need to know.
