Excess money raised for Neil Dearden’s funeral to be donated to Petrus

Date published: 30 September 2016

Around £6,000 has been raised for Neil Dearden’s funeral, well over their £4,000 target.

The costs will cover the funeral service and burial, including a headstone.

Owner of Autoshop, Mohammed Yousaf, who set up the fund raising, said: “This money belongs to the donators; they have full rights to make a decision.

“With your permission, I wish to donate the excess amount to the charity where Neil used to visit.”

Mr Yousaf will be returning any money to those who do not wish the money to go to charity. Excess funds that remain will be donated to homeless charity, Petrus.

Rochdale Online will publish details of Mr Dearden’s funeral when available.
