Norden Ward
It has been an honour and a privilege to represent Norden Ward on Rochdale Council for the last 26 years and I would like to carry on doing so if you will entrust me with your vote on Thursday 3rd May. During that time there have been many changes – some good ones and some not so good. Norden continues to be a thriving community with a good village atmosphere and contains many specialist establishments.
I am at present the Borough’s Deputy Mayor together with my wife Bamford Councillor Jane Gartside, JP, who is my Deputy Mayoress. We are both looking forward to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year and all the festivities in Norden that that will bring. I am also a Governor of Norden Community Primary School and take a great interest in the education of our future generation.
I am fortunate to work alongside my hard working colleague Councillor Ann Metcalfe in improving Norden and its surrounding country areas of Ashworth and Birtle. Local elections concern local issues and I care very much about Norden and its people. If you are prepared to give me your vote I will continue to fight for the interests of the whole of Norden Ward which is what the public expects from their elected Councillors.
