My name is Mohammed Sajid, known to my friends as Saj. I am a son of a former TBA worker so my roots are firmly here in Spotland. I live on Lisbon street, in the ward i wish to represent, with my wife of 20 years and 3 children who have all studied or currently study at local schools.
I believe that the individual to best represent our ward should be someone who resides here. It should be someone who sees the issues that effect us on a daily basis and someone who is close to hand and easily reachable at any time of the day and night. Also they should be able to be of assistance in a matter of minutes and also someone who is also affected by the issues affecting the area.
I live in Spotland and Falinge and my family, friends and neighbours will breath the same air that you will breath if the former TBA site is disturbed for redevelopment without a full site survey to establish the hazards that lie within the site. My children will cross the same roads that your children and grandchildren will cross so we have to work together to SLING OUT DING QUARRY; making sure the HGV lorries do not drive through heavily populated residential community areas which have blossomed since the quarry has been inactive. Fly tipping is a blight on our neighbourhood and needs to be stamped out by educating our neighbours and also through tougher enforcement by the authorities.
I am not a politician I am a resident of Spotland and Falinge who wishes the best for his area and for the borough and WILL NOT adhere to party politics at the expense of our ward or our borough. I will support any proposals put forward by any party, organisation and individuals who have the best interests of our ward and our town at heart.
ALL THE ISSUES THAT AFFECT SPOTLAND AND FALINGE AFFECT ME
I understand the issues that affect our town centre as i have a business on Yorkshire Street and will work together with fellow traders and organisation to attempt to bring our town back to its former glory/ Our town benefits from some of the most beautiful historic architecture combined by our rural surrounding yet only a stone throw from the M62 motorway and the ever blossoming city of Manchester - Rochdale has a lot to offer and I will work tirelessly to promote our ward and town.
I feel passionately about Spotland and Falinge and the Borough of Rochdale and ask the electorate of my ward to support me in the upcoming elections. I promise to serve you with all my heart I am a hard working family individual who is standing in the elections to make a difference to our ward and borough but can only do so with your support on May the 3rd.
I promise if elected to:
- Visit every household in my ward to discuss any issues they may have
- Reply personally to every email, letter or any other form of correspondence I may receive
- Deal with and work tirelessly on the issues that effect our ward and our borough
Work with any elected or unelected individuals (regardless of political party affiliation) - Work with any public, private, voluntary and charitable organisation for the best interest of my ward and borough
- Organise regular clean-up sessions and to be always at hand to deal with fly tipping
- Work with local businesses to promote there businesses
- Be always at hand throughout the year especially during the winter months,especially for the elderly during the winter months
- Keep you updated with issues that affect our ward
- Work hard to make sure we retain our existing services at Rochdale Infirmary and fight to bring back our A&E and Maternity services which were axed under the last Labour Government
