Prosecco Cricket – Popular Women’s Soft Ball Cricket Festival Back in the Borough of Rochdale at Heywood Cricket Club, 6.00pm -9.00pm

The festival has been created to get more women involved in the game of cricket. No pain, all gain! Soft Ball Cricket is a new, fun, fast, social game for all abilities featuring a, you guessed it, soft ball.

Merchant Day Flag Raising, 10.00am, Rochdale Town Hall

Merchant Navy Day has been commemorated since 2000, but only for the past two years has it been the focus of our nationwide campaign to raise public awareness of our reliance on seafarers and shipping.

Open day at GMFRS Bury Training and Safety Centre, 11.00am - 4.00pm

A great experience to see first-hand what being a firefighter is like, with real life scenarios to try out. The open day will have tours taking place throughout the day, firefighting demonstrations and emergency service vehicles.

The theme for the Heywood Charities Fete this year is 'Book Titles'. The Carnival Parade sets from Sefton Street at 1.00pm near Heywood Train Station, and then along Manchester Street to Queens Park.
