I am delighted to be standing once again for Milnrow and Newhey.
I am standing for election for exactly the same reason I did 26 years ago.
I'm passionate about Milnrow, Newhey and Ogden.
When I retired from the prison service a few years ago, I promised Ralph, my husband that I would take it easy. If anything, I'm even busier now. It's my 65th birthday the day before the election so that's going to be a busy one. I wouldn't have it any other way.
For the past couple of years, I've loved working with Councillor Andy Kelly - he really is a bundle of energy. We make a great team.
During my time off the Council I have been an active member of Butterworth Hall management committee, the Literary and Scientific Society, Friends of Milnrow Memorial Park, Milnrow & Newhey Carnival Committee, Friends of The Clock Tower and the Horticultural Society.
I have a proven track record in getting things done in our villages.
For 26 years, I have striven to put our area first.
As the former Council Leader, I led the campaign to deliver Metrolink for Milnrow and Newhey. It has made a huge difference and we are leading the campaign to get the Metrolink to be every 6 minutes rather than 12.
Milnrow and Newhey residents still thank us for saving the 451 and 462 bus services. We are campaigning at present to improve the reliability of the buses.
One of my first jobs, if elected, will be to sort out the parking problems in Newhey. I am determined that any new development at the Coral Mill site will deliver the parking spaces we so desperately need.
I fully back the local Liberal Democrat Manifesto.
I want to see the Pennines Township given more power and money. At the moment it is just a talking shop so we need to give it a new lease of life.
I want to see more police on the beat. I can't remember the last time that I saw a police officer on the streets of Milnrow, Newhey and Ogden.
It's not rocket science to suggest that a more visible police presence deters criminals.
