I am delighted to have been selected to represent Bamford ward – the place I love and where I have lived with my family for more than 40 years.
I attended Bamford Primary School, am a governor at St. Michael’s School and an active member of St. Michael’s Church. I graduated from Durham University and currently work at Salford University in Communications.
Local elections are about local issues! I am proud to have worked alongside Councillors Jane Gartside, Pat Sullivan and Ian Duckworth to help tackle local issues all year round and keep our area a special place to live.
I have met many of you as I called on all homes across Bamford, Brimrod, Marland, Oakenrod, Oulder Hill and Sudden and have been delighted to have your support and to be able to help where possible.
With the team, I have already:
- Got a new grit bin installed in Brimrod to help residents on a steep road
- Arranged for a waste bin to be fitted on Bury Road to help keep our pavements free of mess
- Had three ginnels cleared of weeds and broken surfaces fixed
- Arranged for pothole repairs and graffiti removal
- Reported fly-tipping to be cleared
- Supported and helped at several local community events
- Attended surgeries, PACT meetings and local forums working with the police, council officers and residents.
- Actively supported the hard-working Friends of Springfield Park and resident campaign groups
I pledge to:
- Protect our green spaces from over development
- Fight against incongruous building
- Work to ensure our environment is maintained and kept clean and safe
- Speak up for Bamford in Council to ensure it gets a fair deal
- Ensure Bamford remains a special place to live and work
- Support local voluntary and community groups in their work
