Local Election 2023

Ibrahim Khalil

Ibrahim Khalil

Conservative Party
Kingsway Ward

My name is Md Ibrahim Khalil. Your Kingsway Conservative candidate. May I extend warm greetings to everyone across the Kingsway ward. I would like the privilege to be your local conservative councillor. I will listen to what you want and fight to make the area the best it can be. I aim to promote unity and togetherness. My passion lies in the happiness of my neighbours and our community. I have witnessed a lack of social policy locally and want to change that. I understand how resources have to be learned and used carefully and I pledge to deliver that if elected. I want to be your voice and I will ensure your concerns are heard, your opportunities maximised and your quality of life improved.

Proud to live in Kingsway but it could be better:

I want the place we live in to look good so that ultimately we can feel great about where we live and feel proud of where we come from. Our roads are a mess with too much traffic and too many potholes. I intend to address those issues for you and if elected that will be a priority for me. To tackle issues such as these will not only benefit how our area looks but also benefit car maintenance. Potholes are very damaging to your car too. In the long run you will spend less on maintenance and that means you will keep more money in your pocket. I also want to bring derelict buildings back into use. It is terrible how the Kingsway Hotel has stood derelict and boarded up for so long. Surely this ought to be a community hub of some description.

Road safety and the clean air zone:

Road safety and the clean air zone are both very serious threats to us all. We see cars speeding along our roads frightening other road users. I want the police to tackle this urgently. This should be a priority for everyone and I will fight to make sure it is. I want our roads to be safe for us all. I cannot believe how damaging the Clean Air Zone is for all of our residents and businesses. Andy Burnham and his Labour councils have got this totally wrong. We all want to breathe clean air but just bashing people with extra taxes is not the answer. I am really angry with this because of the impact it will have on you.

I want to plant 200 trees:

I intend to plant 200 trees to support and develop our countryside at a time when it is more important than ever. We must protect our green space from the ever-increasing urban sprawl for the benefit of our community and our children as they grow up.

Thank you for reading my Election pitch. Please consider your postal vote and vote on Thursday 4th May 2023.
