Our clubs French specialist , Eddie Dunne presented part of his postal history collection of covers and postcards. Most French towns and villages issue their own unique postal covers.
Eddie has been collecting French postal history for over 30 years and especially since he acquired a static holiday caravan in the south-west, Tarn department 81.
After refreshments Eddie displayed a nearly complete collection of both definitive and commemorative stamps. The latest rate of French new issues exceeds 200 stamps annually. In addition many towns also issue their own local adhesive stamps, too numerous to be included in stamp catalogues.
New members are always welcome at our meetings which are held at the Rochdale Unitarian Church on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm.
