Minutes of the 148th meeting held 18th July 2017 at Hare Hill House 7.30pm
Present: Ian Jackson; Julian Farnell; Barry Horner; Brian Holden
Those present were only aware of apologies from Keith Hallam and John Kay.
Minutes of the last meeting were discussed and used as agenda items for this meeting.
Littleborough Civic Trust
IJ advised those present that he is giving (on behalf of Littleborough Civic Trust) a presentation to Littleborough Archaeological and Historical Society on ‘The History of the Rochdale Canal in Littleborough: Thurs 10th August at Littleborough Railway Station; Platform 2.
This presentation was initially, and is essentially, for Littleborough Civic Trust, but as Littleborough Archaeological and Historical Society provided some of the information and photos, they requested the above presentation on the date given.
Durn Marina
No change. Those present suggested that this may now be an expired item for future meeting agendas until (or if) any developer appears.
Canal & River Trust
IJ informed the meeting of an event held by C&RT on 13th July, when various speakers presented forthcoming projects in the North West.
One of them was a funded project entitled Calder valley Rising, which included examining the potential feeders for Rochdale Canal; including the possibility of re-engineering the original feed from Hollingworth Lake to Summit.
Café Boat Scheme
The mooring application is still with C&RT, who have not yet replied. JF advised that as before, everything is in place to move on when all applications are completed and approved. He also stated that JFK now had all the details required to explore insurance. BH gave some examples of mooring fees etc.
